Graceville State School considers the participation in sporting
activities to be an integral part of the development of our students to
becoming lifelong learners. The values that our students gain from
participating in sporting activities are immeasurable and invaluable. We offer
our students a wide variety of sporting experiences through our Physical
Education curriculum and our participation in the District interschool sports fixtures.
Teams from years 5 - 6 compete in baseball, softball, basketball, AFL, netball and soccer against local schools on Friday afternoon. Students compete in athletics, swimming and cross country and may advance to district, regional or state representation.
The representative
pathway for our students through to the Met West Regional Sporting trials and
State and National Trials is through the Eastern Taipans District. All children
in the upper primary grades are given the chance to attend these district
trials and to compete at the higher levels offered across a number of different
sports.
