How well do you know our local area?

How easy is it for you to walk, cycle or catch public transport to school?  Find out with Graceville State School’s new Active Travel Map.  Brisbane City Council has produced this map for the school as part of the Active School Travel program.  Our Active Travel Map is a detailed map of our suburb highlighting public transport routes, walking and cycle paths and essential public facilities.
You can also measure the distance from your house to school using the measuring scale.  Have a look for the big pink polygon. We call the area inside this polygon the ‘no excuses zone’. If you live within that polygon, you have less than 500m to travel to school and that is an easy ten minute walk!  If you drive from outside the polygon, you can still do the ‘Park and Stride’.  Just leave your car outside the polygon and walk the rest of the way.
You can also use the Active Travel Map this weekend to discover nearby bikeways and walking paths, catch a bus, ferry or train, walk to parks and shops and visit other local attractions.
