Annually we host a study tour of students aged 10-12 years from
Taiwan at our school for two weeks in August.
School families host a student in their home and the students attend
school each day with some lessons in class with their school buddy and special
Australian culture and language learning sessions as well.
Program Goals include:

Enhancing English fluency

Social and cultural immersion
·
Australian Culture
Positive benefits for hosting students include language
enhancement as our language other than English taught at Graceville is
Mandarin, intercultural awareness, personal development and international
relations and friendships. We have started building some very positive relationships with a few schools in Taipei who we have been exchanging tours with.
Bi-annually we undertake an outbound Study Tour to Taiwan
with year 5 and 6 students, this happens in September and we travel for 10 days
to Taiwan.
This is an amazing experience for our children to live and
learn in another country although for 10 days it is just a taste of Taiwan, we
have found that there have been many lasting benefits of such an experience.
